1: Fortune was unfortunate. With more time and development and the right pieces around him, he can be a real game changer. He’s got some real unpredictability to him and he’s not afraid to have a hit. 

2: Brooks getting back to form is great to see. His service has been much better. It’s a shame no one had the finishing touch to go with it. 

3: If you’re going to hold a higher line, you actually have to press. We did it last match, we didn’t this time. New England was too comfortable in our end. 

4: Double digit corners and we couldn’t even get a shot on target let alone an actual goal. We should be and need to be getting more from set pieces. 

5: Muyumba’s liabilities are starting to outweigh his positive assets. He has great moments but he gives up possession too much and often at the worst possible times in the worst possible places.

1: The best first half we’ve seen all season and not just because of Saba resetting all of Miami’s clocks. The team was calm and composed in the middle of the pitch. Comfortable and fluid in our buildup. Good off the ball movement particularly within the final third. Less of the ball, more of the attack IN TRANSITION, very productive. Fancy that. 

2: Derek Williams is low key massive for this team. Everything feels more calm and assured. We saw him actively communicating when Miami was on the attack and also when we started our build up play….or a COUNTER ATTACK. We’ve been missing a conductor on the backline. 

3: That was Almada at his best. He could’ve scored if he’d be a little more direct and a little more selfish but that’s the level of play we got accustomed to and just haven’t seen. 

4: Muyumba was stirring the pot the whole game.  Dynamic and crafty on the ball. Good vision to see…good attacking runs in behind. Fancy that. The guy was pulling the strings all night. If there’s anything critical to say, at times he tried to do too much. 

5: In some ways this result is surprising, and in others it’s not. For reasons unknown, this team needs extra motivation to get going. Whether that comes from going down a goal, going down a man or in tonight’s case, going against the 🐐. The pressure of the game itself never seems to be enough motivation.

1: That starting Xi (albeit not first choice) was chosen and setup to score an early goal. Best we could do was get 56% percentage and .5 XG. That Xi was talented enough to do more and we didn’t. BTW we’ve had the majority of possession in all our losses. 

2: Speaking of doing more, Gonzo has consistently talked about simplifying the game for these players, you know what’s not simple? Having MORE of the ball. This team is not capable of playing tiki taka possession ball and Pineda has refused to adjust. 

*He said in his presser that he was not expecting LAFC to play with back 5. But they did. So basically a team did something outside of what they normally did in order to obtain a result. Interesting. 

3: It’s Embarrassing when we are undone by the simplest of things like balls over the top, & direct through balls that eliminate 3 defenders & not playing to the damn whistle. Tired of hearing praise from Gonzo for the basics when we don’t even execute those. 

4: Brooks’ drop off is DEEPLY concerning. We’ve called him Mr Reliable for a reason. He’s been a robot at times with his endurance and consistency and something has happened with his software. He looks defeated, gassed and his service has been crap. 

5: “I liked the team’s fight and the chances we created after going down a man” Pineda in is his presser probably. If he genuinely thinks that really starting to play after conceding first AGAIN and going down a man is worthy of praise he needs to go. Truthfully there are plenty of other reasons for him to go. The mentality of this team top to bottom, players to coaches to social media team is wrong. There is no reason to keep him and the staff he brought in.

1: This should NEVER have to be a take but unfortunately we still have players not playing for every ball or even until the whistle. It’s deeply concerning. Full blooded commitment has to be the bare minimum and even that appears lacking too often. 

2:Distribution from Guz isn’t bad most of the time but we are not winning the 2nd balls. Infact Nashville’s goal comes off our inability to win those second balls in the middle of the field. 

3: When we did win a 2nd ball or a duel it came off Muyumba or Xande so, not bad games for them. But once we progress into the final third there’s no end product. We’re reliant on individual magic but at least we did have one moment of it. 

4: Hasn’t been Saba time in quite some time. His flashiness is quite bright, his composure has been quite dull. He’s just been looking less & less like a genuine attacking threat & more & more like a flash in the pan. 

5: Nothing has changed. We almost conceded both immediately after scoring & after set pieces and dead ball situations. We were spared by luck, VAR & Nashville not being able to put it away. We’re still a 2nd half team & still decimated by injuries.

1: Well Jennifer got her wish with Saba playing on the left. But as soon as we put one of our more creative and dynamic players on the left, we played predominantly on the right. That was confounding especially when one of our best early chances came off the left. 

2: We are not utilizing Thiago to full effect and he’s also not at his absolute best. Apart from that incredible ball he whipped in for GG he’s just not in  possession in key dangerous areas where he can attract multiple defenders creating space for others. He’s drifting, trying to find the game. 

3: Once again we give up a soft goal from a reset of play. In fairness, we’re really missing a 6’5” Norwegian in those situations but that’s no excuse. And once again we conceded immediately after conceding. We’re so easily exploited and teams know it. 

4: Our one goal came off some quick direct counter play. Sure would be nice if we did that more often. 

5: Gonzo is a really smart guy. He’s a student of the game. He’s very detail oriented. He knows every little detail about every opponent we face. It’s really impressive. But for unknown reasons, all of his knowledge is not translating to performance results and sooner rather than later it’s going to become untenable.
